Everywhere I look, someone is wearing flip-flops. As a zilennial, it feels like I’m living in a Y2K fever dream. After a small resurgence last year, they’ve officially become a full-blown trend, arguably the hottest shoes of 2026. Now they come in bold prints, are decorated with cool embellishments, and are far more elevated than the ones from the early aughts. I’ve been on the hunt for a pair for summer, and the moment I saw Katie Holmes wearing them, I had to know everything about hers.
Recently, the actress was spotted in New York City in a simple outfit—a white tee and a long denim skirt—paired with chic, bright coral thong sandals that added a fun, statement pop to an otherwise pared-back look. Turns out they’re from the viral brand Archies, known for its flip-flops with built-in arch support. They retail for $40 and are also co-signed by Jennifer Aniston (two huge perks).
First off, the color couldn’t be more perfect for sunny weather, in my opinion. I’m slowly branching out from black, white, gray, and brown, and this shade is just punchy enough without feeling overwhelming. But the real standout is the comfort-focused design. Created with input from physical therapists, the footbed uses a specialized closed-cell foam that adapts to your foot over time for a more personalized fit. Its one-inch arch support also provides full-body alignment, helping prevent backaches.
Plus, they have a one-piece design (meaning the sole and strap are molded together), so you don’t have to worry about the strap stretching out or completely detaching from the shoe. Let’s just say I will be buying more than one pair; that’s for sure!
They also come in a range of vibrant styles that work perfectly for vacation looks or for adding an easy pop of color to everyday outfits. And I’d be lying if I said the yellow pair wasn’t already in my cart…
But if you want something a bit more muted and understated for day-to-day wear, you’ll be reaching for any of the ones below on repeat.
